The U.S. singer Taylor Swift was the winner of the 39th edition of the American Music Awards, won three awards, including artist of the year, while Jennifer Lopez won the award for America.
The awards ceremony was held Sunday night at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles at a ceremony marked by the absence of "stars" like Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Rihanna and Adele.
Adele had the most nominations - four in total - and won three categories: pop rock artist, album ("21") and contemporary artist.
After the award given to Taylor Swift, another surprise was the victory of Bruno Mars, surpassing Justin Bieber as best artist in the pop rock.
Jennifer Lopez took the prize for Latin music, which competed with Pitbull and Enrique Iglesias, has been shown to be thrilled at the ceremony.

Other distinguished names in the session were Maroon 5, Blake Shelton, Lady Antebellum, Usher, Foo Fighters and Casting Crowns.
