Mars escapes from trouble with the law

Bruno Mars will not have to stand trial on charges of possession of cocaine.
The singer, whose real name is Peter Gene Hernandez, there was found guilty of possession of hard drugs after being caught with a bag of cocaine in the bathroom of the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas in September 2010. In a court session held in February last year, the judge accepted the application for review by lawyers for Mars, which meant that the artist would not be subjected to one year probation. Instead, the singer was forced to pay about 1800 euro fine, to do 200 hours of community service and attend drug counseling sessions.

At its meeting held this week in which the singer was not present, the judge dismissed the case after the Mars lawyers persuaded that the interpreter had "fulfilled what the court ordered, having been away from trouble with the law."

"Bruno deserved the process to be filed," said the lawyer Mars quoted by the Associated Press.
