Pearl Jam replace autographed guitar fan died after theft

Pearl Jam have always shown a great affection for his fans, as the legal battles with Ticketmaster, or the vast number of live albums to prove it. The band returned to show their concern and generosity this Christmas, this time with the family of a deceased fan.

In 1992, the band offered a Fender guitar signed Josh Hardy, a fan of 17 years who was dying of a brain cancer. After his death, the guitar was passed to Ben, his younger brother who is now 34 years. According to the Boston Herald, Ben was devastated earlier this month to find that the guitar had been stolen from his house. The instrument turned out shortly thereafter, but all the autographs were taken in an attempt to make the guitar beyond recognition.

The Pearl Jam found this and shared help. Even before Christmas, Ben received a surprise order, a new guitar signed by all band members. Speaking to Herald, Ben Hardy said he was extremely moved by this gesture that clearly exceeded their expectations.
