Patti Smith inspired by Winehouse

Patti Smith wrote a song about Amy Winehouse. The theme, composed by American artist, is based on a poem I wrote in July itself, when Winehouse has died at age 27.

The punk-rocker told Uncut magazine that the issue will be included in your next album: "It's a little song about Amy that arose naturally while we were in the studio to record another song differently. I had written a poem when Amy died and my bassist Tony Shanahan, composed a rhythm and the two combined to perfection. "In addition to this theme, the album will also appear on another actress Maria Schneider who died last year and with whom Smith lived closely in 70 years.

Patti Smith, icon of the punk-rock music, is also recognized for his talent as a writer. His book "Just Kids," based on the relationship he had with the photographer Robert Mapplethorpe, will be adapted to film by the singer in collaboration with John Logan.
